Emilia-Romagna is one of the of Northern Italian regions. It is bounded on the East by the Adriatic Sea, on the North by the Po river and on the South by the Apennine range. About a half of the region is constituted by Padan Plain, an extremely fertile alluvial plain crossed by the river Po. The rest of the territory is occupied by the hills and mountains of Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Famous Provinces are Bologna, Ravenna, Ferrara, Rimini and Modena. the art of cuisine in this Italian area is one of the best of the whole country. The adriatic coastline with Rimini Riccione is very famous and in summer spoilt by mass turism. Art cities like Ravenna and Ferrara are worth visiting because of very interesting renaissance works.
