Ronda is a famous, popular, historic and bustling town in the province of Malaga in Andalucía in South of Spain. It is located about 100 km from the city of Málaga. Dspite being fast growing and one the three biggest toursit attractions in Andalucia, Ronda retains much of its historic charm, particularly its old town. Ronda is famous worldwide for its dramatic escarpments and views, and for the deep El Tajo gorge that carries the river Rio Guadalevín through its centre. Visitors make a beeline for the 18th century Puente Nuevo 'new' bridge, which straddles the 100 meter chasm below, for its unparalleled views out over the mountains of Serranía de Ronda.
Another important place in Ronda is the Plaza de Toros, the oldest bullfighting ring in Spain that is still used. It was built in 1784 in the Neoclassical style by the same architect as the Puente Nuevo. It is a nice place to spend a few days. Ronda is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding countryside. You can do some excellent hiking in the nearby Parque Natural de la Sierra de Grazalema.
From the surrounding countryside you will have excellent views of the town's famous bridge Puente Nuevo.
