Gangotri Temple & Gaumukh Glacier Trek

Gangotri is in a magnificent setting at an altitude of 3042m. Gangotri temple was constructed by Gorkha commander Amar Singh Thapa in 18th century. It is a temple of the Goddess Ganga and a lingam can be seen in water in winter. People take deep dip in the Ganges River. Gangotri is the holiest places in India.
 

Trek to Gaumukh (the Cow’s mouth) and return can be done in three days. It is best recommended trek for an adventure lovers who are fond of rock-climbing, boulder hopping and glacier traversing and a treat for nature lovers.
