The Lake District of Argentina is located in the most northern part of Patagonia. It offers beautiful landscapes and sceneries. Lake District is much more developed than the southern part, the area of Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego; The End of the World.
The natural center to the Lake District is the famous mountain resort (San Carlos de) Bariloche and the surrounding Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi. Here people who like outdoor activities can enjoy a wide range of activities like trekking, kayaking, climbing, rafting, cannoning, mountain bike and horseback riding.
If you go south you will find the place El Bolsón that is a more bohemian version of Bariloche, or Lago Menendez and Parque Nacional Los Alerces. Heading north there is the attractive city of San Martín de los Andes, that is the fly fishing haven.
Also famous and a must do in the Lake District is the Seven Lakes Drive, a breath-taking road through some sky-blue lakes. In this beautiful region you can find the most scenic golf course in Latin America. It is close to the famous Llao Llao Hotel.
