Thuringian Forest trekking information

The Thuringian Forest forms a continuous stretch of ancient rounded mountains. Thuringian Forest is 120km long and 35 km wide. The highest elevation of Thuringian Forest is the Grober Beerberg, 982m – 3,222ft.
The main attraction of Thuringian Forest is the famous Wartburg Castle, a castle situated on a 1230 foot which was founded in 1067 by the count of Schauenburg. The area is suitable for year round tourism including many winter sports resorts.
